Desktop nuclear fusion demonstrated

People working a UCLA have got an interesting little experiment going here. While not the panacea of free power for the future, it's definitely a step in the right direction. They still aren't getting more out than they are putting in, which is the key to success with this exercise. The notion of using it as a thruster is an interesting one I didn't even think of when I first read over the experiment. I like that scientists are still thinking about space even when the rest of the country isn't. It's important that all the applications for new technologies are considered.
