Researchers Locate Lost Fishing Nets

Normally I would wait for Dianne to jump on something like this, but she's busy so I'll point it out. Basically these ghost nets are nets that fisherman have cut loose and are floating around the ocean still capturing and killing fish. They are made out of synthetic materials made to last for centuries, so basically they are a massive hazard to all sea animals. I'm glad that they've found a way to detect the nets, but why are there hundreds of them in the ocean? Too bad there isn't a way to track these back to the owners and make them pay for their irresponsible behaviors.
