Standing Room Only at New Cemetery

This is such a great idea. Like there needs to a headstone in this day and age for a dead person. Our deeds are recorded for all of time in the historical archives of our lives and our families. Being buried laying down with a headstone is just a fundamental waste of space. I'm still not convinced it wouldn't be cheaper to burn the bodies, but it's not like you're going to need it for anything later. Hopefully we will develop a new mindset in this country and start getting away from these silly old notions of graveyards.

Do you know where your great grandfather is buried? More than likely, neither will your great grandkids have a clue where you are; so Australians have a "neat" idea.

Perhaps, a step further, we should grind up the bodies after twenty years for crime victims and shortly after death for others and plow their ingredients back into the soil.

Works for me. Ashes to Ashes, dust to dust.

As for my lineage, on my mother's side I can show you were generations have been buried. We were all preachers back then so there are churches that bear our family name. I believe there are 4 generations back all buried in the same place. But it's never been a matter of concern for me to worry about finding it. My focus is on the living and not the dead.
