"Sith" Fans Maimed in Lightsaber Mishap

This is another one of those headlines that I don't think is fair to put up. I mean I read this and I was thinking these guys had stabilized some sort of energy sword and the reality they were fighting with glass tubes filled with liquid. What are the odds that glass tubes will break when you hit them together?? The criminals dressed up like Sith are pretty funny actually, but you just know some crazed cop is going to shoot some geek by accident because of it, which won't be very funny at all.

Have you seen the movie yet?

Nope, Dianne is working on arranging a baby sitter and some time so we can. Of course, I've already generated the list of reasons why I hate going to movies these days. I'd rather take a day off work so I can catch the first matinee just so I cut down on the number of losers in the theater ruining my experience.

Interesting thing, there was a squalling child through the first half of the movie. I have nothing against kids, and kids are bound to cry at some point, but I do think maybe the parent should have taken the child to the lobby so as not to disturb all the rest of the paying customers.

But the matinee idea is a good one.

That's one of my pet peeves actually. Movies are not the place for small children, and if your child is screaming you need to be an adult and get up and LEAVE. Parents have no responsibilty these days. They even have "kid" movie times now so you can bring your little one and watch a movie with a bunch of other parents with screaming brats. I have no problem with parents watching a grown up movie, but a child shouldn't be brought to the same movie. Get a babysitter or wait until it comes out on DVD. They need to stop being selfish and realize that the world does NOT revolve around them! We've never taken Alexis to a movie and we won't until she's old enough to see a movie in the theater and then it will be a child's movie and not something Jamison and I would go see on say a date night or something. It's not the way things are done. And if we're in public and Alexis gets upset, we leave. There is no need to ruin everyone else's outing because she is crying. I feel very strongly about this and I have friends that let their kids just sit and scream in public. I've even talked to them about it and they don't see the issue, but then again it goes back to the point that they think the world revolves around them and they don't see an issue. It's just pure selfishness.
