About 40 miles as straight as the crow flies as we Arkansas folks are prone to saying. I'm actually extremely happy for they've gotten something more environmentally friendly to work on in the area. I'm not much for doing anything outdoors unless the house is on fire, so it's unlikely I will go into the swamp to look at a nearly extinct bird, but if any of you have those kinds of leanings I highly recommend it. The programs on NPR about the efforts to reconstruct the community around a protected reserve have been quite interesting.
