Republicans seek to undermine Hybrid rollout
I won't lie to you, I'm a big fan of the Hybrid technology. I'm so happy everyday when I drive my hybrid to work that I made the investment and I worry on that same commute that so many other people haven't bothered to make any investment at all in America's future, but the morality of the decision in a mute point. It's about what you can afford and I'm willing to forgive that kind of thinking. One of the keys to making the hybrid technology cheaper of course is making enough to get the economy of scales. I've lectured about this time and again so I'm not going to go through it again, but it's critical that the production numbers get up high enough that the technology becomes cheaper to make. In cars the more you make, the less it costs for a variety of reasons. So I'm sure you're asking what are the Republicans doing to undermine that? They have changed the rules by decreasing the amount of tax credit people that purchase Hybrids get based on how many are being built a year by the manufacture. So American automakers who are making almost no effort to decrease America's dependence on foreign oil are rewarded for their half hearted efforts at Hybrids. Meanwhile Toyota and Honda who have pushed the technology into the mainstream are immediately punished for their good work in getting an economy of scale. Now I know the brain-dead Neo-con losers among you will immediately claim that if they are getting an economy of scale that they don't need the people buying it to get a tax break, but you failed to comprehend that the economy of scale they've achieved hasn't reached the point that it equals the tax exemption. Now you will be extending the tax exemption to those that have no interest in moving America forward and punishing those that are trying to help. It would seem that if you were being reasonable that you'd try to make it work the other way, but Republicans prefer to reward laziness and love doling out the corporate welfare to the undeserving in Corporate America. It's utterly disgraceful thing to see.
I'm hoping that the Hybrid push will be effectively combined with a 5% Ethanol blend of gasoline nationwide and really make a dent in America's over dependence of foreign oil. Of course my goal is to move America away from supporting terrorists, which puts me at odds with the Bush Administration and a majority of the Republican party. Which is fine by me. Who would want to be in agreement with America haters anyway?
