Why do we need the Military in New Orleans?
If you expose yourself to the radical right wing blogsphere they are abuzz with disinformation and excuse making for their inept leadership. First they blame the poor people of New Orleans for not having enough money to leave the doomed city. Then they blame them for trying to survive as well. Then they blame Americans for noticing the fact that their "god chosen" administration has been so inept that you have to take regular hits off a crack pipe not to notice. And boy are these worthless losers hitting the crack pipe hard lately trying to maintain their hate ideological excuses for why things are happening the way they are. Now they are blaming Americans for asking why it took so long to mobilize the National Guard to help the people in New Orleans and now to add insult to injury they've started attacking the National Guard units that are there as unqualified and basically a waste of resources. Given a choice most right wingers would rather nuke New Orleans and declare it a victory for their radical hate ideology, but if you have any good sense it takes little more than a few seconds to show them to be the brain-dead morons they really are.
Why do we need the Military there at all? I really love the use of the Standard Military code to try and cover up their natural born incompetence. So back to the question, why not send in the cops to do it like the Neo-cons want? Why not let the state police handle it like the Neo-cons want? Neo-cons generally being low life idiots can't see the forest for the trees. What is a military unit folks? A self-contained self-supporting social structure. For those of you that don't comprehend what that means, the military is set up to go to places where there is no food, no water, no infrastructure (mind you usually because they blew the hell out of it) and no order. Your average soldier carries more supplies on his person than most people have in the hurricane emergency kit. Now why is that? Because they expect to go long periods of time without resupply. The next key is the equipment the military has. It's made to work under the most adverse conditions. One of the retarded Neo-cons I was reading was blathering on about how they didn't have the equipment to do anything about the broken levee with the units they had sent down. But they have trucks that are made to run in 6 feet of water or more. They have a logistical support network that makes UPS and Fedex look like amateur hour. If our National Guard and Army units weren't being wasted in Iraq they could have been mobilized in advance of the storm and been on the ground with every piece of equipment necessary to repair and sustain the existing infrastructure in New Orleans in days instead of what is likely to be years now. It's actually what their freaking good at folks. We built the most impressive war machine in history and it also acts as backbone of support when the traditional infrastructure of the homeland is disrupted. No amount of blathering by the godless Neo-con apologists trying to cover for the ineptitude of the Bush Administration can change that. It's been pretty clear from the start that the lack of action is the standard part of the Republican Racist ideology coming to the top again. We all know that hate is the cornerstone of radical ideology. It's not secret so it's time we stop pretending these brain-dead fools are anything more than whiners and crackheads like the leadership of their political party. I found it pretty much a good summary of how far off the right wing media has been in the last week. They've been telling us that a continuous state of lawlessness has existed and they want to go in with all guns blazing and yet the soldiers are getting there on the ground finally and people are happy to see them and telling them they are mad at the godless Republicans for holding them up for so long. Americans have clued in to the deception that is the radical right agenda. Hate America all you want, but we are going to take back our country from your worthless incompetence.

I don't even know if I can stand to hear the neocon response to this right now. I'm so upset by the horror of the situation that hearing the neocons and thier defense of the Bush admin will just push me over the edge, I think. There is no excuse. none. Anyone who defends Bush at this point has no soul.
