William Bennett

I read this yesterday and I got so angry I couldn't even form a verbal response let alone write a blog entry. I gave the quote to Dianne and she was left in the same place I was. This is the very kind of racism that is so common to the Republican ideology that makes it impossible for me to take them seriously on any level. For those of you that haven't heard exactly what he said I'll quote it, but if you've ever talked with a Republican you've heard the sentiment a hundred times before.

"If you wanted to reduce crime, you could -- if that were your sole purpose -- you could abort every black baby in this country and your crime rate would go down."

Now this comment is immediately followed with the standard Republican cover comments when they are pumping their true agenda for America. I'm sorry folks, but there are some things that are so reprehensible that they aren't even thought let alone said to an radio audience. Even if you listen to the comments in the context of the discussion that he was having, this idea is completely created by him alone to support the radical right wing agenda that the Republican party supports. Republicans have slowly been testing the waters with more and more radical ideological suggestions checking to see if America is ready to embrace their total hate ideology. My hope and prayer is that Americans are ready to mute the radical right wing hate machine.

If abortion isn't wrong or illegal, how is this racist?

Oh, and the word 'irreprehensible' means 'good'. Look it up: http://www.answers.com/irreprehensible

It's racist because he is only referring of aborting one group of people. He didn't say aborting all races, he said aborting "every black baby in this country" and that in and of itself sews this up with out a shadow of a doubt.

He's got me on the typo. That's what happens when I get so mad that I'm thinking faster than I type.

Actually aborting all people of a specific group is more commonly referred to as genocide. Which is considered to be a crime against humanity.

Well I fixed the typo. I'm sorry I didn't catch that the first time.

oh man. I am totally disturbed by Bill's question. Wow. Does he even really have to ask?

Apparently so. Sad isn't it?
