Ford verses the blogsphere

I've been watching this for the last couple of days in pure amusement. For those of you that haven't been following the story, certain members of the Ford Executive branch are Republicans. They decided to work with their buddies in the party of racism and led an attack against equal rights for their employees. So they had their Republican buddies complain to Ford that helping homosexuals was offensive to them and they would lead a boycott of Ford if they didn't enforce their racist hate ideology with in their corporation. Then the Republicans at Ford used that as an excuse to attack their Gay-friendly policies at the company and turn the company into a racist organization. Enter America blog and the forces of good in the blogsphere. John Aravosis decided to lead a counter attack against the radical right and their hate ideologies, along with the corrupt racists at Ford for supporting them. Ford reacted much like any guilty party does when they exposed for being racists...deny, deny, attack, deny. Smart people know to pick their battles, racist Republicans have no concept of that. All they know is hate, and hate doesn't compromise or tolerate anything that it hates. What I really love is the HR people attempting to create disinformation by posting positive spin straight on to America blog. How completely stupid do you have to be to believe that will work? Every blogger can figure out who your host servers are and anyone that doesn't know how to do it, send me an email and I'll teach you how.

What I find most interesting about this is that it's an extremely effective reversal of the techniques that the racist Neo-Christians have been using against corporations for the last decade or two. They claim to represent a large number of customers and say that they will execute a massive boycott of their business if they don't implement their racist ideology with in their business. For years it was working because they were asking for things that no one really cared about. Removal of dirty magazines from stores and things like that. The cost benefit analysis showed that most of their demands didn't hurt business significantly and might even win them new friends, which did nothing but embolden the Neo-Christians to make larger and larger demands. Now they dictate to large corporations what charities they can support and how they can treat their employees. Like mobsters of old they offer their "protection" in return for continued support of their hate ideology. For businesses apathy has led them into a situation that they really can't do anything about the hole they've dug themselves into.

In Ford's case they've really stepped in it. The racists in management that supported this and alo support the Neo-Christian hate ideology in their company sort have put them in an indefensible position. Ford is going to likely need to be bailed out by the American people. The Neo-Christian fanatics have basically destroy the electibility of the Republican party. Which means by the time that their request gets to Congress they are going to be unable to get any help because the infrastructure of the progressive blogsphere is going to have influenced the make-up of Congress to the point that there won't be a racist Republican majority in Congress anymore. Which will mean Ford will have to answer for its racist policies before they can get support from the American people. I know I will be sending emails to my Congressmen if Ford thinks they are going to get any of my tax dollars when they are supporting racism and discrimination against their own employees because the Republican party told them to. So they are going to take a massive hit either way they go. A company with a history of political problems with discrimination should be more careful than to allow senior managers to associate with racist political organizations like the Republican party and their Neo-Christian fanatical supporters.
