SUVs no safer for kids
No real surprise that the science bore out what most of us could figure out all on our own. The Republican push that SUV's are a requirement for safety was luditrious to begin with. It was nothing more than a thinly veiled effort to increase the consumption of oil by American consumers. That being said moving away from the monster SUV's to reasonably sided ones definitely moves one towards responsible ownership. But if you're getting less than 20 miles per gallon on your car to make your kids "safe" you're just kidding yourself. You're doing nothing but making Republican campaign contributors kids inhertiances "safe" and nothing else. Maybe we can get some regulations in place that actually increase the safety of my kid's lungs instead of trying to pad the pockets of Big Oil. There's a crazy notion.
