Writing Space
I spent the better part of the morning, up until lunch time, rearranging the living room. I wanted to move the desk my grandfather made into our "breakfast nook" (really it's such a small space I hesitate calling it that, but I guess that is its name) so that I could write with some natural light and be able to look out the window. My desk upstairs is next to the window in our bedroom, but I feel exposed there. It faces the street and every time I open the curtains I feel like I am being stared at, so I decided that will be my night time writing space, when I wouldn't have the curtains open anyway and my new daytime writing space is next to the French doors leading out to our deck. I also moved the couch in the living room and I must say, other than the fact that you can tell how dirty our carpet is from where the couch was sitting, I really like the set up. The room looks so much larger!
I spent Alexis' entire "nap" writing. (She laid upstairs and sang Wild, Wild West from Elmo's Wild, Wild West and I Know You from Sleeping Beauty instead of napping, thus the quotes.) I like my desk here. When I come to a pausing point I can look outside over the yard and my garden and think. It's going to work out very nicely I think. Now we'll just have to see what Jamison thinks about the new arrangement when he gets home. :o)
