Funds restored to energy lab before Bush visit
This has been one of those laughable gaffes that have come to define the Bush Energy agenda. The Republican party has been working night and day to make us more dependent on foreign oil, only to suddenly have an about face because they realized the American people were on to them, but their policies were still heading forward as originally planned. It's beyond surreal to hear people who have worked continuously for their big oil campaign contributors to undermine the US economic independence to suddenly start pretending they care about our security. I imagine what we will see is the same kinds of cuts just added to this year's budgets. They only need to talk nice until after the election cycle and then they can get back to what they were originally working. The ignorant masses of Republicans only want good talk, they have no desire to see it turned into action. Let's just hope these guys can get some technology out before the Republicans cut them off again, but even that's a long shot considering that the Republicans would just turn around and sell any new technology to their campaign contributors who would immediately put it in a vault never to be seen again. It's just the way they work.
