Help repay an injured soldier for his lost body armor
Anytime you hear one of those anti-America Republican pundits screaming about how the blogosphere doesn't matter a hill of beans in the long run you should look at days like today. Basically the Charleston West Virginia Gazette ran a story about a local soldier who was wounded in Iraq who ended up discharged for his wounds, being forced by the Republicans to pay for the body armor that was cut off his injured body. I'm sure the story has been repeated a couple of hundred thousand times around the country. The Republicans have been cutting every corner that they can to weaken America. So the liberal blogosphere reacted. John over America Blog is so angry he setup a separate paypal fund to collect money to pay for the body armor of the soldier and maybe to give him some extra since the guy is out on his own and unemployed now. In two hours liberals raised enough money to pay for 4 or 5 suits of body armor for him. I think John's comments on Editor and Publisher sums it up:
"We liberal folk may disagree with the Bush administration over the reasons for going to war and over how they're fighting this war," he declared, "but one thing you'd expect no disagreement over would be the treatment of our soldiers. They fight for their country and they deserve some respect in return. And that means not charging them for their body armor because someone blew them up on the battlefield."
It's truly a disgrace that the party that supports war works night and day to undermine the soldiers lives who are wounded by the war. It's time for a change folks. It's time for a serious group of Americans to start making the decisions for this country instead of the hate group bent on our nations destruction. It's a disgrace that private citizens have to fill in the gaps created by Republican incompetence and cruelty.

Thank you for the posting; I am surprised that the accountants are tracking even body armour! I would be embarassed to have asked anyone so injured for this reimbursement.
