Naughty and Nice Friday
It’s sad to say that there has been so much naughtiness this week that it is impossible to pick just one naughty person. Therefore I give you the top three naughty people of the week and their cohorts!
In the number three spot we have Tom DeLay, who despite his own criminal issues took over key roles in the Republican party left open by Randy "Duke" Cunningham, who resigned in December due to pleading guilty to accepting bribes in return for governmental favors. Mr. DeLay is so power hungry that he simply has to be in the thick of things and the Republicans gladly let him, because after all he hasn’t done anything the rest of them haven’t done so maybe they all should be on the naughty list! Shame on you Mr. DeLay and shame on the Republican party for letting him get away with it!
In the number two spot we have Bill Frist and Dennis Hassert for adding aspects they wanted to be included to a bill at the last minute without anyone’s knowledge or approval so they could help out the pharmaceutical industry. Shame on you both!
And in the number one spot we have dear old Dubya! Mr. Bush should be ashamed of himself for showing up at the funeral of Ms. Coretta Scott King considering he and his administration hate everything she stood for and have worked continuously to destroy everything she held dear and in essence what she even stood for and then to add insult to injury get upset because he had to listen to truth! Shame! Shame! Shame!
And now on to the nice people for the week…and surprisingly there are two. It’s usually hard to find even one! The honor this week goes to Rev. Joseph Lowery and President Jimmy Carter who told it like it was and didn’t back down just because Bush was present! Bush is so used to having his audiences screened that in essence he is sheltered from the actual truth. His "truth" is what he wants it to be and these two men gave him a dose of what he desperately needed...REALITY!! Bravo to both of you! Bravo! We need more like you to stand up for what is right, what is truth and not let the establishment goad you into being quiet! You both are very honorable men who I admire very much!
Until next week.
