Steele Compares Stem Cells to the Holocaust

Our crazy Lieutenant Governor is at it again! He's shooting off at the mouth about things that are beyond his ability to speak about. I can't imagine a more inappropriate thing to say, but I'm sure there are Republicans that could go farther. I just don't want to be around to hear it. I saw the title of the post and I mentally wrote up a response immediately, but luckily the folks at the Baltimore Jew Council that he was speaking to gave a great response to the wingnut.

"If the lieutenant governor was drawing a comparison between stem cell research and human medical experimentation during the Holocaust, he must understand the pain this kind of analogy would inflict on survivors and their families," Art Abramson, executive director of the Baltimore Jewish Council, said in a statement to The Sun. "We absolutely reject any comparisons between ethical and lifesaving medical research, and the horrors committed by the Nazis in their evil drive to create a master race. We welcome any clarification Lt. Gov. Steele can offer about his remarks."

My only disagreement with their comments is that there is no point in asking for clarification, this is the standard Republican rhetoric on the subject. They will exploit any painful event to push their radical hate agenda forward. Be is September 11th, the Holocaust, or anything else they can dream up. They will do anything to get a lock on power and do as much harm as possible to this country in the process. This is just the kind of people Republicans are.

I guess the GOP thought that Steele was their answer to Obama. That would be a NOT. Between him, Blackwell in Ohio and now Lynn Swann in PA (his brother lives in my area ... email me on the low if you wanna know), I guess the new strategy is to prop up black Republicans to get some votes. I don't think it will work.
