Crossing party lines makes targets of some incumbents

Man the radical right wing spin machine is working overtime to save Lieberman! I really love how they combined the Republican methodology and pretended it was the same as the Democratic one for wanting to remove a candidate from office. Republicans will vote against anyone that doesn't support their radical hate ideology. Unless all their candidates move as one hate filled violent monster on every topic they go nuts, which is why Chafee is in so much trouble with the Republicans. In spite of being a Republican he tried to be a representative of the people of his state, which is a majority Democrat, so he voted more like a Democrat. That caused an immediate hate filled response that we've come to expect from everyone that wears the name Republican. Which is why he's earned himself a primary opponent. Lieberman's situation is the complete opposite of that. He's a Democrat in a majority Democratic state trying to represent only the hate filled Republican minority in the state. There is a night and day difference between why these two men have earned opponents and to pretend otherwise is only a sad attempt to prop up the evil behavior of Lieberman. My Democratic Representatives regularly make decisions that I wouldn't have made in the process of doing the politics of their jobs. It's never crossed my mind that they should be replaced just because they did something like that. Much like the rest of the reality based community I realize that Politicians have to make compromises to get things done. The fewer they make the happier we are, but in the end it's a matter of getting things done. Lieberman on the other hand has gone beyond making compromises to the point that he's pushing the radical anti-America Republican agenda and working towards the destruction of the Democratic party. That's beyond the acceptable range of behavior. I was against the war in Iraq and yet I happily voted for Mikulski even though she voted for it because she's serious about the effort and worked tirelessly against absolute Republican apathy and hate towards our wounded veterans. She stands by her decision and follows up on making things right from her decision. Republicans don't have any concern for veterans, in fact they see them as expendable resources and soon as they've outlived their usefulness they want to throw them away. They have no concept of the notion of saying "I'm committed them to war and I will do what it takes to make sure those that are wounded and lost are given the respect they deserve". Instead they work to undermine veteran benefits everyday they get a chance and make sure that the soldiers don't have the tools they need to fight the war. It's disgusting that kind of behavior that's come to define what it is to be a Republican and Republican supporter. They hate our soldiers, they hate our country and they hate our way of life. No one with that much hate of our great nation deserves to sit in Washington and that's exactly why Lieberman has to go.
