Bush Eases Environmental Rules on Gasoline
WASHINGTON - President Bush on Tuesday ordered a temporary suspension of environmental rules for gasoline, making it easier for refiners to meet demand and possibly dampen prices at the pump. He also halted for the summer the purchase of crude oil for the government's emergency reserve. The moves came as political pressure intensified on Bush to do something about gasoline prices that are expected to stay high throughout the summer.
This is exactly what he wanted all along...to help his buddies out in the oil industry. Easing the environmental rules does absolutely nothing, other than speed along global warming, but I guess when you are a delusional, maniacal psychopath that doesn't matter that much! This latest twist in Bush's ongoing war on the environment is completely uncalled for! Gas prices won't lower that much, but the damage to our planet might be irreversible. He's not worried about you, he's worried about campaign contributors. Gas prices won't go down until October and they will hope that we the people are dumb enough to believe they did something to help us when election day rolls around in November.

I hope no one was planning on being able to breath when they were outside this summer! It will double or triple the number of code red days around the country. Which will drive up medical expenses. It's hard to believe that this will help anyone but big oil. But then again, that's who the Republican are always looking out for, their campaign contributors.

Yeah, and I doubt these changes will be temporary. Bush will "forget" to reinstate them when the crisis is past, or he'll just claim we're in a never-ending crisis and we can't hamper the oil companies with onerous regulations.

Take a look at NPR's Site on Oil Prices.

People aren't as stupid as the White House would like to think that they are. This is going to bite them and relaxing the environmental rules will too. They are completely clueless!
