But we aren't the Democrats!

Now this statement is taken completely out of context and it's probably unfair to use it in this way, but it illustrates an interesting discovery I made last night. I've been saying for months that politics moves in slow motion compared to the rest of the world. I guess technically I should be more specific on that statement, it moves slow for me. Politics is about repeating the same message over and over again until it breaks through the noise of the world and changes the mind of the listener. I'm not a normal listener. I don't like to hear the same message more than once if I can avoid it. I tend to distill things down to their most basic parts and just remember that. Which brings me back to the comment in the title.

The Republican party is a godless heartless machine...they move as one mind, ruthless and destructive with their never ending goals of the destruction of the American way of life. Every once in a while you'll see a few break free, but the harsh reality is that with the rampant criminal and corruption in Washington, the Republican party is happy to keep sending the same people back to fulfill their long term goal of destroying the country at any cost.

So how do you fight an enemy like this? Some people think you can stand in front of the horde and speak with reason and logic, we will politely call this the "Kerry" approach. As we saw in 2004 the Republican hordes happily goose stepped right over Kerry. I think it's pretty safe to say that this DLC approved approach to the problem is absolutely ludicrous at best, and completely insane at worse.

Another approach is to lead the horde close to a cliff and see how many you can shave off. This works slightly better and that's what is going on right now with the roll out of the racist Republican agenda in Washington. But the horde doesn't care about losing ten or twenty thousand members because they get too close an edge. They hate America, causing harm to any number of them makes them happy.

Now I bet you're thinking, when is this fool going to make his point? We have to do more than just wait until the Republicans finally go so crazy that they destroy their coalition of hate. We all know they are doomed, but we should be working to encourage that inevitable failure. Which brings me back to the state "We aren't the Democrats". There needs to be a mindset in the progressive community especially that everything that is not Republican is Democratic. Republicans are among the most vile and hate filled monsters on the planet. We should all be stepping up to say to the Democrats, hey you guys are completely broken it's time for a change. We must help march the horde straight off the nearest cliff every couple of days. We must work as one unit to save America. For as much as the Republicans hate America and seek it's destruction, everyone else on the other side of the wall of hate must be willing and ready to stand against them.

We are all Democrats! We are all Americans! We are all not so small and vile that we would be called Republicans.
