Maryland's Anodyne Debate

What an editorial. If I didn't know better I'd say it was written by someone in the Duncan campaign! Not that it matters, the points are very good. A lot of us activist types have started to become worried about the fact that the Republicans seem to have completely backed off the O'Malley campaign as if desperately trying to make sure he wins. And anytime you have Republicans cheering for a particular Democrat to win then you've got a matter for grave concern. Republicans are vile and ruthless campaigners, they plot and plan in ways that would make normal people cringe. They only know smear, they have no positive aspect to themselves or their records to draw from, so all they have to fall back on is attack and innuendo. Which makes me worry that they've got enough mud to throw that they feel they can skew the results close enough and confuse people enough, with their state run voter suppression plans to allow them to steal the election. Maybe it is time to get these two candidates out in the open together and see who the better man really is before the Republicans get a chance to trap us in a bad choice. We must never forget the levels of evil and corruption that define the Republican party, we must never make the mistake of trying to humanize a group of people who are vile and dishonest. It's time to get all the cards on the table for every Marylander to see, so we can mitigate the mud of the overloaded Ehrlich campaign war chest from all his corrupt Republican campaign contributors.
