Garden Update: A Few New Plants and Some More Bamboo Poles!
When I went outside this morning to take pictures of the zucchini blossoms I realized that the tomato cages alone just weren't going to cut it this year for the tomatoes! They are growing like gang busters and I'm not sure if it's the Turbo Tomato Mulch, the organic Tomatoes Alive or a little of both, but they are really fantastic this year! So Alexis and I headed off to Home Depot this morning to get some more Bamboo sticks.
Not only are the plants growing tall, they are bushing out as well, so Alexis and I added 3 Bamboo poles to each tomato cage to allow them more room to grow out not only upward, but outward.
Click on the extended entry to see some new additions to the garden today as well.
They finally had yellow squash plants today so we added one of those.
They also finally had some more cucumbers so we added a few more of those as well. Counting the two we had, and the one that actually sprouted from seed that gives us 6 total.
I added some lavender back to my flowerbed with my roses, because for some reason it didn't make it back this spring. I also planted another rosemary plant on the end of this bed, because you can just never have too much rosemary!
We also replaced a tomato plant we lost, but I didn't end up with a picture of that one. Maybe I'll take one later when my camera battery is recharged.
Overall things are still going well in the Daffodil Lane garden, but I reiterate...WE NEED SOME RAIN!!
