It's The Pox

We compared Alexis' spots with Amber's and I'm confident that she does indeed have Chicken Pox. So far she has a very mild case and just a few spots, but she started scratching so we're trying to keep her from doing that. We're in the process of finding out how much Benedryl to give her and we've calamined her spots (all two of them, the big ones anyway.) She is however scratching in places where bumps have not appeared, so I'm expecting more of the little bumps any minute now, but I'm hoping she doesn't have a real heavy case. At least she and Amber can hang out together now. Amber is bored and I guarantee Alexis will be bored when she realizes she won't be leaving the house for a week or so. How will she get her Starbucks? ;o) Basically we're just going with the flow.

If she had a chichken pox shot and still got chicken pox maybe you should let the health department know. Also watch the adults for "shingles" they usually appear about two weeks after the chicken pox start breaking out. Same virus for both , herpes simplex

She didn't have the chicken pox shot. We declined it because I've had several friends whose children contracted cp anyway and had very heavy cases so I didn't see the point. Jamison has actually had chicken pox twice. I had thought about shingles in the back of my head too. I'm hoping it doesn't visit us. :O)

Lovely thought, Shingles. I have had the shingles twice and Jamison had the chicken pox twice.

My grandmother used to get them all the time. She'd have them a few times a year. I don't know if she still gets them now or not.
