Social Security Financial Health Declining
It's amazing the game of chicken the worthless Republicans are playing with people's future. I mean given their behaviors over the last 30 years it isn't surprising, but it's amazing with their polling that they wouldn't think to change their morally bankrupt strategies. Basically this is another faked report from the Republican controlled Social Security trustees. The sky is falling standard kind of Republican stuff. I have a splitter in my finger we should immediately cut off my arm kind of stuff.
In a decade if we take no action at all the system will start failing and in 3 decades that will lead to a total collapse. Interesting isn't how the amount of money that's needed to fix the program comes almost out to equal what the Bush tax cut equals. Basically he stole it from grandma's mouth to put it into the hands of the wealth campaign contributors of the Republican party. Amazing stuff if you think about it. The Republican answer is that we must destroy the program and throw the elderly out into the street. It's baffling how the Republican get so much support from the elderly when they hate them so much. I keep forgetting these are the people with brain damage that lack the mental ability to realize they are being played for fools.
As I've been saying for the last two years and years before that there is a simple solution to the problem. Step one, extended the social security taxes to include incomes over the first 95,000 dollars in salaries. This is horrifying to the Republicans, but for those of you that don't know the rich folks to get to make all sort of money and never pay their fair share of the social security taxes on that money, because the Republicans refuse to allow it. It's time to extend those taxes on all income made by everyone. The top 15% of Americans only pay a portion of their incomes into the salaries into social security. Step two, if we complete step one successfully we will only need to increase the amount we pay in by 1%. We could increase it at 0.1% over a decade so people and businesses would feel very little of it.
Between those two steps we could make social security solvent for the foreseeable future. It doesn't take much effort to fix the program if that's your desire. The Republican's only desire to throw the elderly out into the street so they can't imagine any solution except that. Which means the only solution for America is to throw them out into the street first.
