Toyota recalls more than 565,000 cars

"Subject to the recall are a total of 565,756 vehicles manufactured under the Wish, Isis, Prius, Corolla, Corolla Runx, Corolla Fielder, Corolla Spacio, Allex and Ractis brands between September 2002 and November 2005, according to the statement."

I was over at Hybrid Cars Blog and they had this up. I imagine before the afternoon is over that the right wing nutjobs will make this into a Hybrid only recall. The key thing is that it's only a bad part in the steering column, it has nothing to do with the hybrid part of the car. It's caused no accidents, Toyota just doesn't like the performance so they are stepping up and replacing it to be safe. The vast majority of the cars effected are the Toyota Wish, but the Prius is the next largest block of cars effected. So if you have one from the date range, you need to take it by your Toyota dealer to get it replaced.
