Gore Refuses to Back Lieberman
You can read into this whatever you want to Gore's quote.
"I am not involved. I typically do not get involved in Democratic primaries. Joe is my close friend, Joe and Hadassah are close to Tipper and me and it would be very difficult for me to ever oppose him. But I don't get involved in primaries typically. He's a great guy and he's right on a lot of other issues."
But at the folks at Political Wire pointed out, Gore supported Dean and not Lieberman for President in the 2004 election cycle. I don't think Gore endorsement would have any effect on this race either way, so it's always best to just stay out of trouble on this one. But it's amusing that he got asked! It shows you how much trouble Lieberman is in and how hard his right wing media buddies are working to save him.
