I guess I should talk some politics.

I've been in a foul mood about politics for the last couple of weeks and I guess I should say something about what's been going on behind the scenes that has made me get so quiet. When it was suggested that I run for the DCC, my concern was that going up against the Establishment Democrats without a lot of prior planning would be bad for the party in the long run. Not to say I wouldn't relish the fight, because when you're fighting for the heart and soul of your country, there is little that you aren't prepared to do to save it. But nothing prepared me for the vile venom that has spewed forth from the Establishment Democrats in a vain attempt to derail an effort to move the party forward so we can stop losing elections and stop the rapidly growing Republican cancer in our state. I would think these goals while not even on the radar of the Establishment Democrats, wouldn't cause such a wild and violent backlash. Instead the exact opposite has occurred. A ruthless whisper campaign has been launched against me and the other reformers that have put their names on the ballot led by the Establishment Democrats on the DCC.

At first I was completely baffled by what was going on. I mean anytime you approach lazy people with the notion of doing work, you are going to get some push back, but suddenly it became a war and unable to refute our overwhelming evidence of their incompetence, they resorted to the only path for cowards and fools. I would expect this kind of stuff from Republicans, but from Democrats it's sickening. I asked why and I discovered something very interesting that I didn't know about the DCC. If a Democrat dies in state office, the DCC is responsible for picking their replacement to finish out their term. So in theory the DCC could act as king makers and evidently a lot of people think that it will be their ticket to Annapolis without getting elected. Basically the Establishment Democrats are using the DCC as incumbent insurance, stack it with people who will pick the "right" type of people when the time comes and basically you can move from being a lowly citizen to State Senator in a day. And here I thought the most important thing they did was arrange the fliers at the fair.

My instincts are always to go for the jugular, failure is not something I'm willing to tolerate in myself or the organizations I am a part of. When I joined the Democratic party, it no longer became acceptable for them to be a bunch of slackers. My daughter's future is a stake, and my country's. The Republican cancer has to be stopped here. I've thrown down my battle standard and this is where we make our stand. This is war and I don't have time to wait for a bunch of sniveling politico wannabees to get on the same page of music. You scumbags can whisper all you want, your organization is so weak because of your incompetence, at this point I can win without it's support.

And that's where I'm at folks. Angry and frustrated, not a good side of me to end up on.
