Schaefer's words stir criticism
Ah one of the main reasons I became involved in Maryland politics. A man so vile and annoying that the very fact that he draws breath made me want to get involved to reform the establishment. It's really not a secret that Schaefer is a misogynistic bigot, so how the hell does he keep getting elected? Does the Democratic party not have a freaking primary process to handle just this kind of situation?? The rumor mill says that he's been around so long and so many people owe him their political careers, that he's got a job until he dies or doesn't want it anymore. That kind of good old boy crap is exactly what has managed to weaken the Democratic party. It's just got to stop! The Sen. Sharon M. Grosfeld quote pretty much sums up my feelings on the matter ."As a Democrat I'm embarrassed by him. As a human being I'm embarrassed by him. He needs to step down now." If you share that sentiment, Sharon is one the honorees at the Democratic Diva Dessert Party Fundraiser. A person should rise and fall based on their ability and merit, not their connections. The living opposite of that is called the Republican party. He's literally Maryland's Zell Miller, just crazier. Now that's a comment I never thought I'd be making. I don't care who does it, but this guy has got to go!
