Reading or A Lucky Guess?
Last week I bought Alexis several boxes of flash cards to work with since we're starting out the learning process. One of the boxes was entitled "Colors and Shapes". Alexis has looked through this set many times since we bought them the other day and it has fast becoem her favorite.
Friday she asked me for "colors and shapes" and when she made the request I thought she was talking about the "Colors and Shapes" episode of Blue's Clues and I headed to the TiVo. "No Mommy. I want colors and shapes!" So having no clue what she was asking for I told her to show me. She rolled her eyes at me as if I was the lamest person on earth and took me by the hand to lead me to the place where I had the flash cards up out of her reach so they wouldn't be spread out all over the place and disappear into the vortex that is her toy stash. "Mommy...Dose colors and shapes!"
Now I didn't tell her what this box said and neither did Jamison. Did she figure out it was colors and shapes because well the cards have colors and shapes on them? Or did someone else mention the name of the cards? Or did she "read" the title? Regardless she knows that it's "colors and shapes" and to be quite honest she freaked me out a little bit, but our children are here if nothing not to amaze us! :o)
