Likely going to be meeting with Janet Owens tonight
Janet Owens is doing a campaign stop in my neck of the woods, so if you have any questions you'd like me to ask her please let me know. I figured I'd start with my question and see where it goes from there.
"So other than not being a misogynistic bigot, do you have any other qualifications that would convince me to vote for you?"
I'm currently in lesser evil mode on the Comptroller race, given a choice I'd rather write in Craig Reynold's name instead of any of the Democrats that are running. Janet is too pro-growth for my tastes, but I despise Schaefer so much I'm almost willing to compromise my morals and give her the nod.
Some have been giving me grief for not coming out more harshly against Owens on this site. I seldom make mistakes or oversights on something so major folks. My view into the political world told me she was gaining traction. If the other choices were viable I'd been more willing to go after her, but the reality is that she's shaping up to be the only choice. Next time, I'll have a chance to make sure there are better choices, but for now we go to war with the party we have.

I can't bring myself to vote for her. If she wins the primary then obviously she's better than the Republican choice, but in the primary I'm voting for Franchot. Schaeffer is evil, plain and simple, I wouldn't vote for him period! Owens needs to seriously look at her priorities in terms of sprawl and what she's doing to the environment. She was not, in my opinion, a good county executive. George Johnson will be so much better as county executive!
