The Golden Compass
I had never heard of this book or movie before I popped over to Monica's blog a few minutes ago. I have to say I'm very interested! I am going to read the book and most definitely try to see the movie too! It looks awesome!

One of my favorite books ever! I was working at a bookstore back when the pre-book buzz was building up, so I preordered it, snagged a copy on the day it came out and my daughter and I immediately sat down and read it together (she was 8 or 9 at the time, I think). It's one of the few times I haven't been let down after a lot of hype over something.
