Helen Mirren

I must admit I don't watch the Oscar's as a general rule and I didn't last night, but I did catch a bit of the pre-show and Helen Mirren looked fabulous! That dress is gorgeous and she was too!

Pre-Eclipse

Pre Eclipse

We've had snow all day, but it appears that we will be able to see some, if not all of the eclipse tonight. There are still some clouds floating around here and there, but over all the moon is gorgeous.

Sam and Sue Once Again

Sam and Sue

A couple of weeks ago someone posted on the blog and asked to see Sam and Sue and I couldn't find the picture. It wasn't on the site anymore due to having to remove the images of Alexis when the crazies were copying her pictures and we had to stop posting pictures of her and it's on an external hard drive somewhere around here, but I haven't located that yet. All of the images before the point where we had to take Alexis off the blog were removed unfortunately when we moved Alexis' pictures out of the public eye so that meant the picture of Sam and Sue was nuked too. It finally dawned on me today that I could just take a picture of the quilt! So here it is...Enjoy! :o)

Rep. Tom Lantos dies at age 80

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Rep. Tom Lantos of California, the only Holocaust survivor to serve in Congress, has died, his spokeswoman said Monday.

Lynne Weill said that Lantos, 80, passed away at the Bethesda Naval Medical Center in suburban Maryland.

Lantos, a Democrat who chaired the House Foreign Affairs Committee, disclosed last month that he had been diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus.

He said at the time that he would serve out his 14th term but would not seek re-election in his Northern California district, which takes in the southwest portion of San Francisco and suburbs to the south including Lantos' home of San Mateo.

May he rest in peace.

This Just Breaks My Heart

This just breaks my heart and is becoming an all too often occurrence as of late. I'm tired of these men deciding they don't want their child or they want to get back at their child's mother so they throw them off a bridge or otherwise kill them because they are selfish pricks! I've said it before and I'll say it again most women will gladly, completely remove themselves from your lives. We don't want our children exposed to such selfishness and hate! We'll move on, find a way to support our families and get what needs to be done, done. This just makes me want to scream!

A very good thing to remember when voting today or whenever your primary occurs!

If you live in one of the states where voting is occurring today be sure and get out and vote!

Maryland votes next Tuesday and we're actually voting absentee. Though my heart is heavy that Edwards is out of the race after a lot of consideration and studying of their platforms, I can't speak for Jamison, but I have decided to endorse Barack Obama. I simply can not vote for the woman candidate just because she's a woman. If she was a good candidate that would be one thing, but she is anything but and her past actions, along with some of her present actions during her campaign make it impossible for me to endorse Hillary Clinton. Obama has some very good ideas, though I will admit up front he needs to move away from his ideas on nuclear power. Another issue I have with Hillary is that she won't beat McCain. We need a candidate that will do just that!

So with that said, get out and vote for your candidate!
