The child beating story reminds me of when I was 12 weeks pregnant on jury duty and my case happened to be the beating death of a two year old little girl. I'll never forget the deceased little girl's name as long as I live.

When I was pregnant with Alexis Lacey Peterson disappeared and because I was hormonal I took that whole tragedy so personally even though it had nothing to do with me. Her son would have been around Alexis' age and I still think about that from time to time.
