Interesting Development
I don't think McCain's latest declaration that he is suspending his campaign and rushing back to Washington really has anything to do with him wanting to fix something he doesn't even think is broken, but has more to do with the fact that he is trying to run up hill and he keeps falling back down each time he gets up. He doesn't want to debate anyone, he'll lose his temper and/or come off as the doddering fool. It will be interesting to see where this will go.

TO: John McCain
Chicken!!! By "suspending" your campaign as a pretext to trying to fix a bad economy that you had a generation of years in Congress to fix is a JOKE and I am one American who sees right through you. By this shameless attempt to "show leadership", you have demonstrated what I have realized in recent months - that you are a 19th or at best a 20th century politician with no clue about the 21st century. Have you not heard of multi-tasking? Certainly Americans should expect that whoever will be the next President should be able to handle more than one issue at a time. Are you planning to freeze the government every time a major issue comes up? Are you not aware that the U.S. is the technological leader of the world? Maybe one of your campaign staffers could get one of their relatives who is in Middle School to connect a web cam and a microphone to a computer and show you which keys to push so that you can participate in a web meeting with anyone in Washington (if there are any) who might be interested in your opinion. Additionally what makes you think that you have the authority to make Congress or the Executive Branch do anything? Last time I checked, you were running for president not emperor of the U.S. Technically, you are still a senator and you just have one vote. If you want to get your ideas to the President, Congress, Treasury Secretary, or whoever, you can get that same middle school kid to email them in for you. Since you have made so many stupid statements in the last week or so about the economy and you have seen your temporary so-called lead evaporate, I can see why you would want to call a time out. But, America has given you years to work on the economy. Let the guy who is still president right now and his staffers work with Congress on what to do. What we need from you and Obama right now is to come to Mississippi for the debate as scheduled and let the world hear what each of you plan to do this country for the future. Senator Obama should proceed with preparing for the debate and come on to Mississippi as planned. And you should get your trickster rear end on your "Straight Talk Express" and high tail it down to Mississippi and face the questions. Regardless of whether you suspend your campaign or not, I am not going to forget this cowardly ploy you are attempting.

Apparently he did it back in 2004 too, though not on such a grand stand:

When things aren't going his way he bails. Not exactly what you should be looking for in terms of leadership to say the least.
